Project 3: AI decision Making Policy
Portfolio
Project 1: Make-A-Thon
I think this project best showcases technology literacy from the 4 frames of technology. We started this module by getting comfortable with the micro bit by going through tutorials to make sure that we understood, and then we were able to create. This project was all about being creative with the coding and making something that a student could use and benefit from.
The learning objective that this project addresses is learning objective 3 “Students will be able to use technologies to discover, create, or use digital resources to expand real-world learning experiences, locally and globally ( ISTE 1a, 1b, 2c, 3a, 4c, 4d, 5c, INTASC 6, 7, 8).” my project was to use my micro bit to tell me if the temperature was warm enough for me to wait at the bus stop without a coat. The micro bit had a certain temperature and if it was warmer, I was given a heart, if it was colder than I was given a different light sequence. This would have been very useful for me growing up because there were several days i would stand outside in what i wanted to wear for a few minutes to see if i would be ok or if i needed more layers. During this project, I was able to create something that would have helped me in the real world.
Project 2: Edtech Presentation
This project best showed TPACK from the four frames of technology. For this project we got to pick a technology that we have worked with before in the classroom and introduce it to our classmates. TPACK is all about Combining prior physical knowledge with prior technology knowledge to add in new learning. I have prior knowledge in anatomy and i have prior knowledge with online dissections and the anatamogh table really brings that together into a new learning since you are able to do digital cadaver dissections and highlight the different body systems
The course objective that is highlighted by this project is objective number 1 “Students will be able to articulate and demonstrate how technology can be a tool to enhance student collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and communication (ISTE 1a, 2c,3b, 6a, 6c, INTASC 7,8).” The anatomage table can be useful in almost every grade. I is a way to view actual human body systems without having cadavers in the classroom. It can be used as a quiz tool, a labeling tool and a lecturing tool to show your students better anatomy of the body systems.
Project 3: AI decision Making Policy
The frame of technology best described by this project is Technoskeptisisum. This frame is about viewing the positives and negatives with technology. As Well as understanding that technology is not natural and there can be coast to using it. AI is a really big piece of technology that are used in and out of the classroom today. This project was about my AI policy when it comes to homework, writing and in the classroom. There are times when technology can help and aid in the learning of a student but there are times when the use of technology can replace the students learning and cut off the ability for the teacher to understand how much the students are understanding the lesions. Because of this it is best to be skeptical about technology use and be able to see the drawbacks as well as the positives.
The course objective that best fits this project is Objective six “Students will identify and examine educational technology issues, including legal, ethical, accessibility, and safety ( ISTE 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, INTASC 3,7,8).” During this project i was able to highlight the issues I see with AI use in several different areas. I was able to highlight some good uses, but I was also able to highlight some bad uses including ethical and legal. Ethical being if AI is used on homework then the teacher can’t understand how much the student is learning and legal in the section about citing the AI use in a paper.
